Julia Burgdorf

Julia is a graduate of Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she received her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Communications. After her undergraduate career, Julia began working as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor for an Outpatient Mental Health Center in Columbia, Maryland. She provided individual PRP counseling to adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. A year later, Julia began her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has finished her coursework and is in her practicum semester at Walden University.
Julia is interested in CBT, Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and EMDR. “I believe that my Person-Centered approach and unconditional positive regard allows clients to feel safe and comfortable throughout the counseling journey. I believe that clients are the experts of their own experience, and are capable of change if they are offered the tools and support to accomplish their goals.
