Amanda Pereira

Amanda Pereira is currently a clinical mental health counseling student at Nova Southeastern University. She is in her last year of her master-level courses and is excited for the opportunity to join Helping Moon Counseling as a student intern. Prior to attending Nova, she completed her undergraduate course work at FIU where she received her Bachelor’s in Psychology. She is currently a registered behavioral therapist and through her passion for working with individuals with disabilities, she decided to further her studies and learn about mental health counseling in order to assist a wide range of populations. Her professional experience also includes working with elderly clients who presented with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Amanda hopes to provide a safe space where her clients are free to explore and work through their experiences, empowering them to live a more authentic and fulfilling lives. Amanda is culturally sensitive and takes a client-centered, collaborative approach in her work with children, teens, and adults. She believes that as the client, you are the expert of your own life. She is passionate in helping her clients in their journey to finding the best version of themselves. Amanda employs the cognitive behavioral technique to assist her clients in identifying negative patterns and providing them the tools to reframe the unhelpful narratives. Amanda strives to provide her clients with evidence-based care to address their concerns.
