  • Lissette Martinez, LMHC

Hello, my name is Lissette Martinez, and I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I am a wife and a mother to three amazing children. I obtained a Master of Science in Psychology degree at Florida International University Professional Counseling Psychology Program. It was with this opportunity that I fell further in love with the idea of being a part of someone’s journey through change.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” – Charles Darwin

When things aren’t going well and don’t seem to be getting better, when you feel alone and disconnected, agitated, not good enough, angry or ashamed, resentful, or have been deeply hurt, you naturally try to ease that discomfort, but not always in the most helpful ways. Oftentimes, problematic thought patterns and behaviors arise from natural coping mechanisms that helped you get through difficult times, but are no longer helpful and are in fact now causing greater harm. Navigating all of this can be hard and at times, overwhelming. However, the most responsive to change survive. I commend you for taking the first step in your journey for change.

Mental health therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and the client. Together we can address life’s challenges while embracing your abilities and strengths. I provide my clients a safe and compassionate place to gain a new perspective on life. I will challenge you to achieve and meet your personal goals by providing self-awareness, and confidence to help you connect with your inner self. I am devoted to providing high-quality, judgment free, evidenced-based assessment and treatment for all individuals in need.

My specialties include depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, mood disorders, problem solving strategies, couples and family therapy.
