Taylor Forster, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling Education, specializing in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. I have previously worked in residential settings for eating disorders, as well as in a specialized therapeutic group home for children and adolescents in foster care with behavioral and mental disorders.

My areas of focus include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, anger management and eating disorders. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, as I utilize various interventions based on what my clients need. I utilize CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as the primary interventions.

I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves, as well as understand how to live and respond to those around them. The initial focus is to build rapport and strengthen the relationship, as the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the process. The goal is to understand the behaviors of concern and why clients engage in these behaviors, modify the behaviors if possible, and accept what is unable to be changed.

Throughout our time together, I will meet you where you are in your treatment process, and guide you through every step as needed, until you can independently make choices that bring you to the best you. The first session is getting to know one another, and I hope for you to leave the initial session feeling comfortable and hopeful.
