Aimee Roberts

My name is Aimee and I am excited to join Helping Moon Counseling during my practicum and Internship. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Southern New Hampshire University, and I am currently a graduate school student at Walden University, for my Master in Science in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I am grateful for Walden, and my life experiences, because they have provided me with a strong foundation that I know will be pivotal in my ability to support you.

Professionally, I have held many roles in the human service and education fields. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals from birth to 107 years of age.  As a mental health counselor, my goal is to continue to assist individuals of all ages by providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they feel they can share anything. I strive to provide an empathetic, supportive, and motivational space that will allow you to feel welcomed and respected.

In my clinical experience, I have supported individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, suicidal ideation, and trauma.   I look forward to utilizing treatment modalities such as DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), and CPT (cognitive processing therapy), a trauma focused treatment.  As I advance in my career, I want to pursue certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desentilization and Reprocessing) to further support clients with trauma, anxiety, and depression.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and two dogs. I also enjoy reading mystery/crime novels, puzzles, walking, and spending time at the beach.
