Eve Abraham, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern.

Life handed me lemons and I made the most delicious lemonade out of them!!! - I'm Eve Abraham and am so excited to help you on your journey through life.

Here is a little introductory background about myself.....I grew up in a wonderfully cultured family where South American and South-Central Asian customs and languages were brought to life. I did not realize how special and unique my upbringing was until I was in highschool; no one else was like me and I didn't fit into any conventional "group". At Queens College in New York I majored in Psychology, and was interested in pursuing a PhD upon graduation. Due to cultural restraints, I instead chose a field that was more a "supportive role" in the family structure. After completing training at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, I became an Interior Designer with certification through the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, and worked for one of the largest commercial Interior Design firms in the country. Fast forward many years, after marriage, children, and moving to support my husband's advancement in his career, I found myself divorced. And in such unimaginable pain.

Through the most difficult time in my life, I thankfully found stability and returned to my original passion which was learning about human emotions and behaviors, and helping people to live their best and truly authentic lives. I returned to school, often being the oldest student in the classroom, and received my Master's Degree from Lynn University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my internship at a Residential Treatment Facility working with clients with various difficulties, we collaborated in addressing their diagnoses such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Addiction, Substance Use, Grief, Trauma, OCD, Schizoaffective Disorder, Moral Injury and Personality Disorders. Assisting clients to identify their underlying hidden emotions has been some of the most rewarding work I have ever done.

Currently, I am working towards certification as a Clinical Sexologist and expect to complete my PhD in that field by the end of 2026. The topic of sex and all of its complex issues is rarely touched upon in conventional therapy, yet it is a basic human need and behavior much like breathing and eating is. All humans have a relationship with their bodies, and sometimes it does not behave the way we expect it too. Anyone can experience any sexual based issue at any time, such as sexual pain disorders, uncomfortable or painful sex, intimacy issues, infertility, sexual abuse and more. I am here with an open heart and mind to help you explore and identify blockages which prevent you from living congruently to your desires, and provide a stable and receptive sounding board rooted in empathy, compassion and understanding. In addition, I hold certification as a Hypnotist and am looking to hopefully advance my training into Soul Regression.

My approach to therapy utilizes techniques from various theories. There is no one size fits all model, how can there be when humans are complex and we each are receptive to different approaches? I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to address unproductive and maladaptive thoughts, and negative beliefs about oneself and their world. Delving into our history is important when we identify continued patterns of emotions that may be rooted in childhood. Adlerian Psychology and Attachment Theory addresses those emotions that were left lingering without resolve from years ago. Existential concerns arise for all of us, starting at younger ages than we expect. "Who am I and what does the world want from me?" I'm here to help you identify and voice that. Sometimes we're just stuck and require a little push to solve problems or find direction. Here is where utilizing Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing come in.

I'm here to create a partnership with the main goal of getting you to be the best YOU. I value your input, insight, time and dedication into your self-healing, and thank you for the opportunity to do so.
