Sandra Kroitor, LMHC

If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, trapped in painful memories, constantly overthinking, or exhausted from always putting everyone else first, you're not alone—and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. They may struggle with anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, difficult relationships, or major life changes. Others have spent years surviving instead of truly living. Whatever brings you here, my goal is to provide a space where you can feel safe, understood, and accepted without judgment.

Seeking therapy is an act of courage. Choosing yourself is not selfish—it is an investment in the life you deserve. Healing isn't about becoming someone different; it's about reconnecting with the person you've always been beneath fear, trauma, and self-doubt. Throughout this process, I'll be there to support you through the difficult moments while celebrating every victory, no matter how small.

I'm Sandra Kroitor, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor with Helping Moon Counseling. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 14 years as a teacher, an experience that strengthened my patience, compassion, and ability to meet people where they are. I later earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Barry University after completing an earlier Master's degree in Education.

I specialize in helping adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma (including complex trauma and PTSD), depression, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, low self-esteem, life transitions, codependency, boundary issues, phobias, gender affirmation, and identity exploration. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. I incorporate EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques to help clients create lasting change rather than temporary relief.

I believe therapy should feel like a partnership. You don't have to hide parts of yourself or have everything figured out before you begin. Whether you're carrying the weight of past trauma, navigating a difficult life transition, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

You deserve a life that isn't controlled by fear, anxiety, or past experiences. If you're ready to begin that journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
