Sandra Kroitor, LMHC

One of my favorite quotes is:

"You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared, and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human." — Lori Deschene

The first time I read this quote was on the wall of my own therapist’s office. Making the decision to reach out for help is not easy—it takes courage to acknowledge that you may need a co-pilot on your mental health journey. I want to thank you for allowing me, and Helping Moon Counseling, to walk alongside you in that process.

My name is Sandra Kroitor, and I am honored to be a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Helping Moon Counseling. My path into the helping profession began when I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 2010, which led to a 14-year teaching career. Two years later, I went on to complete my first master’s degree in education. Years down the road, I felt called to support others in a different way, and I am proud to have completed my second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Barry University, along with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Seeking therapy is an act of courage, self-love, and determination to build the life you deserve. Others may not always understand or support your choice, but remember: this journey is for you. It is okay to choose yourself. It is okay to want better. It is okay to put yourself first. Along the way you may feel sadness, anger, frustration, or fear—and I will sit with you through those moments. You will also feel joy, pride, and hope—and I will celebrate those with you, too.

The road ahead may be both challenging and rewarding. As your therapist, I invite you to bring your most authentic self into our sessions. If you are still discovering who that is, we can explore that together. I welcome all emotions—tears, laughter, even frustration—because they are proof that you are human, and that is a beautiful thing. Thank you for allowing me to join you on this journey. My hope is that through our work together, you discover a deeper sense of self-love, appreciation, and renewed hope for the future.
