Kelly O'Sullivan

Hello! My name is Kelly O’Sullivan, and I’m excited to begin my internship journey with Helping Moon Counseling. I’m currently in the final stages of my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University, and I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Boston University. My academic background has given me a solid foundation in understanding human behavior and mental health, and I’m eager to apply what I’ve learned in a real-world counseling environment.

Growing up in New Hampshire, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages, including children. These experiences have helped me develop a well-rounded counseling approach, focusing on creating supportive, nurturing environments where clients feel heard and understood. I’ve also learned the importance of adapting my approach to meet diverse needs, fostering trust and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. I’m incredibly passionate about providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel supported and empowered. As such, I aim to offer a compassionate and holistic approach tocounseling, blending techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Humanistic principles. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

By providing empathy and fostering a non-judgmental environment, I hope to help individuals uncover patterns, gain deeper insight, and build effective coping strategies. Whether working one-on-one or in a group setting, my focus is always on empowering clients to feel heard, understood, and ready to face life's challenges with confidence. I look forward to gaining hands-on experience and buildingmeaningful connections with those I have the privilege of working with during my internship.

I’m excited about the opportunity to embark on this journey and the growth and learning that lie ahead. As Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” I look forward to the steps we will take together along the way!
