Isabel Porto
Hello! My name is Isabel Porto, and I’m thrilled to begin my internship year at Helping Moon Counseling. I’m currently in my final year of graduate studies, pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Ohio University in 2022.
Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, I’ve lived in Miami, FL for over 20 years. I have more than 25 years of experience working in education with children from diverse cultural backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have always felt a strong calling to serve others and a deep curiosity about the human mind.
My goal as a counselor is to foster long-lasting relationships with clients by providing a safe and supportive space for them to share their thoughts and emotions, ensuring they feel seen and heard. My preferred therapeutic approaches include Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, and Existential theories, and I am deeply passionate about self-exploration.
I am excited to embark on this journey with Helping Moon Counseling and look forward to the opportunities ahead!
