Making the decision to contact a therapist can be a challenge by itself. It can be scary and requires a certain level of vulnerability. I know that because I faced the same feeling when I was looking for a therapist. I wanted to make sure the person I start working with would be the right fit for ME! Of course, I cared about their education and training, but I also wanted to make sure I connected with them on a personal level, in some ways. I needed their energy to meet me where I was. I was lucky to find someone like that and I hope I can be that someone for you!

My name is Luna Medina-Wolf, and you can read more about my training and education below. I was born and raised in Israel and moved here after my service in the Army. I was an international student, who found the love of my life here and settled in Boca Raton. We now have two beautiful children. I want to speak to you first from a place of figuring out if I can help you with what you are looking for. If you are looking for a trauma specialist who is going to be direct with you, I am the best fit for your needs. I am passionate about this work, and I will be committed to hold your hand through this process and encourage you all the way. We will set goals together and make sure to achieve them.

Perhaps you are someone who achieved your career goals but feel that you are having a hard time in close relationships. Maybe you are good at your job and climbed up the ladder, but still find that deep inside you struggle with seeing your value. You may have a hard time setting boundaries due to guilt, shame, anxiety, or toxic family dynamics. I want to remind you that it does not have to continue being this way. Things can change and you have the power to change them, with the right support. We will explore your past and help you make the changes you desire. Especially through EMDR therapy, I know I have the right tools to take you on a journey of healing and transformation to live your best life. The goal of therapy is to help you find balance and clarity that includes your voice, the voice of your loved ones, and one that honors your hopes and dreams. I believe that change is possible, and that all clients have the power to learn the skills needed to better their lives. I would be honored to walk along this path with you.

I am a licensed mental health counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families experiencing different obstacles that can cause high levels of emotional pain and anxiety. Some negative experiences can arise from ineffective communication skills, substance abuse, trauma, school problems, and others that may contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, and more. I am passionate about helping people overcome traumatic experiences they endured in their lives.

I continue my professional development with the American Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counselors Association, and Florida Counseling Association in order to bring the best and most current practices to my clients. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Master Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP). I have a strong background in working with individuals who are struggling with substance abuse, people who have experienced trauma and those with disabilities. My love for my career and the compassion I possess for my clients make me an effective therapist.
My approach to counseling pulls from several theories. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR) to process traumatic events. I also incorporate motivational approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as solution-focused and self-help resources. My therapeutic approach begins with exploring thoughts and feelings in a safe and respectful environment, where everyone can feel appreciated and heard. I believe in providing clients with a holistic approach in improving their lives. In order to improve a lifestyle, you have to approach it from a mind, body, and spirit relationship. There is a strong relationship between these three components that affect well-being.

I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew.

One of my favorite quotes is on the home page of our website. This quote leads everything I do in my life and connects very well to my spiritual self with a verse from the Talmud “Everyone who saves one soul, it is as if he saved a whole world.” My other equal favorite, you will find on my email signature. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead
