Isabella Cabaleiro
Hello! My name is Isabella Cabaleiro – I recently obtained my Masters degree from Nova Southeastern University in Mental Health Counseling (Go Sharks!). Born and raised in Miami, I love the sunshine, surfing, kayaking, exploring coffee shops, and writing poetry.
As a therapist, I want to help co-create your ideal life. I believe that therapy is meant to empower you with confidence and equip you with the therapeutic tools that are the right fit for you. Therapy can be seen as a quilt – it may take some time to weave together the different, intricate components of our lives to gain a clearer, more enriched understanding of ourselves. You may be coming into therapy with issues that represent scars from the past that may have never healed. Through self-reflection, patience, and self-compassion we can work together to find realistic and healing solutions to your presenting concerns.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the honor of working in two research labs that explored social psychology and cognitive affective neuroscience. I was able to gain a better understanding of how humans operate in social settings and how brain areas influence behavioral and emotional aspects of the self. This research experience has assisted in understanding my clients better. I have worked with adolescent and young adult clients presenting with clinical issues such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship, family, and career/occupational issues. I also have experience with neurodivergent individuals. As a writer and musician, I am passionate about using creativity to create calmness and a sense of meaning in life. Other techniques and modalities I like to employ are guided imagery/meditation, solution-focused therapy, CBT, Adlerian therapy, narrative therapy, and using music and lyrics to increase self-understanding.
You deserve the ability to seek help without fear of judgment or rejection. Maintaining a place of security and safety in the therapeutic space is of utmost priority to me. It would be an honor to get to know your story. My door is open to you!
